EXIT AND ENTRANCE FLOWS OF NON-NEWTONIAN FLUIDS IN PARALLEL SLITS

摘要
The changes in the velocity profiles that occur at the entrance and exit of a slit bounded by other slits were measured by laser Doppler velocimetry for three fluids. The velocity profiles for a Newtonian fluid and a viscoelastic fluid with constant viscosity agreed with published results, with no difference between the entrance and exit. For a shear thinning, viscoelastic fluid, entrance and exit velocity profiles were different, and flow disturbances persisted farther from the exit.
