摘要
Synchrotron radiation emitted by insertion devices provides a much higher power density than that from conventional bending magnets. In this case thermal stress induced by absorbed radiation produces intense mechanical deformations which can break beryllium windows in very short times. Numerical and experimental results show that nonlinear analysis in the plastic region of beryllium is needed to predict failure of windows under intense heat load. © 1995 American Institute of Physics.
