The lost identity and rootlessness, both of them claim to recover history (awareness of it), or rebuilding it (selective memory), from the ideology and passion. In Spain, the transmission of history, by teaching or by the media, is burdened by centrifugal localism. The corrective measures, that is: reform of the humanities; academic criticism, High State inspection, etc., have not ensured a common legacy. The Act about "historical memory" (2007) commands a historical discourse and a official memory, with damage to living together, in a opposite way to the one chosen by the Council of Europe, in Recommendation Rec(2001) 15.
