The piquetero organizations and the political turns in Argentina of the 21st century

The aim of this article is to identify some socio-political keys to understand changes and continuities in the organizations known as "piqueteras" in Argentina during the 21st. century, especially considering the articulations with the political context. In that sense, we pay attention not only to the relations with the Governments and its policies - which can favor or impede the collective actions-; but also to the changes that popular organizations can made on those conditions considered as unfair or unsustainable. The analysis focuses on the origins of this large and heterogeneous social movement, and also on its reconfigurations during Kirchner and Macri's governments. Rather than closed statements, we present some reflections about the changes and challenges in recent years.
