PROTON MULTIPLICITY FLUCTUATIONS IN NARROW AZIMUTHAL ANGLE INTERVALS FOR INELASTIC-COLLISIONS OF P, D, AND C-12 NUCLEI WITH PROPANE AND TANTALUM AT A MOMENTUM OF 4.2 GEV/C PER NUCLEON

摘要
Proton multiplicity fluctuations in nucleus-nucleus interactions at a momentum of 4.2 GeV/c per nucleon are investigated using the method of factorial moments. In collisions of light nuclei, the moment is a nonmonotonic function of the azimuthal angle deltaphi. This dependence cannot be obtained within the framework of the cascade-evaporation model. Any dynamical effects disappear in interactions of C and Ta nuclei, and fluctuations turn out to be of purely statistical nature.
