The occupational insurance rehabilitation procedure

A wide variety of inpatient and outpatient occupational rehabilitation procedures are available to accident insurance consultants (D-Arzt) for injured persons under the German statutory accident insurance. The rehabilitation procedures differ, sometimes considerably, in the indications, prescription formulae and specifications and in some instances have been updated in recent years. Some forms of specific rehabilitation are only performed in special treatment institutions, such as complex inpatient rehabilitation (KSR) or must be directly controlled (rehabilitation clarification, Reha-AK). In order to guarantee therapy success a graduated assessment of indications and also knowledge of the correct regulations are necessary to be able to steer the medical treatment according to the guidelines of the German statutory accident insurance and to achieve the best possible result for rehabilitation.
