EFFECT OF PLANTING GEOMETRY ON MAIZE AND SOYBEAN INTERCROPPING SYSTEMS UNDER RAIN-FED CONDITIONS

摘要
An experiment on maize and soybean intercropping conducted at G.B. Plant University of Agriculture and Technology, Hill Campus, Ranichauri in 1984 and 1986 showed that planting geometry significantly affected the yield of maize and soybean intercropping systems. 'Maize + soybean at 45/30 cm in 2:2 rows' gave highest maize yield (22.0 q/ha), LER (2.63) and maize equivalent (59.3 q/ha), closely followed by the treatment, 'an additional row of maize after every two rows of normal sown soybean' (59.0 q/ha maize ev.)
