摘要
The article sums up the results of the study assessing the changes in main characteristics of tracing paper (strength, elasticity and colour) by examining model samples of tracing paper for ink cured by impregnating composition of glycerol and PEG-400 before and after the accelerated ageing. The composition based on PEG-400 has been tested on spoiled sheets of tracing paper for ink. Analysis of the cured spoiled sheets proves that treatment of fissures and verso sides of documents on tracing-paper for ink with composition based on the PEG-400 helps stabilize them. In archives for scientific and technical documentation there is a large number of drawings on tracing paper for ink. Unlike other paper documents, the restoration of this kind faces great difficulties. Traditional techniques, materials and substances used for paper documents restoration are often useless in restoration of documents on tracing paper for ink.
