摘要
The spatial response of a compensated spectral density tool has been studied by Monte Carlo modelling. The results show that the vertical resolution of the density measurement is independent of the formation characteristics. The radial depth of the measurement is shown to vary between the source and detector and also to depend on the formation density. The spatial resolution of the “photoelectric” measurement depends on the atomic number of the formation. The apparent location of a horizontal bed boundary is found to depend on the direction of approach to the density contrast.
