Reactions of diisothiocyanatophenylphosphine, PhP(NCS)(2), with a few organotin (IV) chlorides, group XII metal chlorides and their derivatives: Synthesis and characterization of novel complexes containing the PhP(NCS)(2) moiety

摘要
The reactions of PhP(NCS)(2) with MCl(2) proceeds efficiently yielding microcrystalline [MCl(2)(L)] compounds (where L=PhP(NCS)(2), M=Zn-(1), Cd-(2), Hg-(3). Reactions with the precursors [MCl(2)(Ph(3)P)(2)] (M=Zn or Cd) afforded compounds identical to 1 and 2, where total Ph(3)P was released in the reaction. However, the reaction with [HgCl2(Ph(3)P)(2)] afforded a microcrystalline compound [Hg(Ph(3)P)(2)(L)]Cl-2(4). Analogous reactions of the ligand with R(2)SnCl(2), result in the adduct formation [R(2)SnCl(2)(L)] (R=CH3(5); n-C4H9(6); C6H5CH2(7)). The ligand is acting as bidentate in ail compounds.
