摘要
Self-adhesive resin cements are widely used in fixed partial dentures because of simple clinical procedure and overcoming the technique sensitivity of multiple-step systems. The main adhesion mechanism of self-adhesive resin cement is attributed to a chemical reaction between phosphate methacrylates and hydroxyapatite. Many self-adhesive resin cements can provide adequate bond strength to dentin, similar to conventional resin cements. Additionally, adhesive systems and poly(acrylic acid) pretreatments can improve the bond strength of self-adhesive resin cements. Provisional cementations have neither positive nor negative effect on the bonding ability of this type of cement, whereas dentin cleaning agents may negatively influence the interaction between dentin and self-adhesive resin cement. Glutaraldehyde/HEMA containing desensitizer agent can improve bonding strength of self-adhesive resin cement. This review article is aimed at discussing the factors influencing the bonding performance of self-adhesive resin luting cements.
