FORMS OF HEXAVALENT PLUTONIUM AND AMERICIUM IN BASIC AQUEOUS-SOLUTIONS

摘要
The forms of hexavalent plutonium and americium in basic aqueous solutions are studied by a spectrophotometric method. Evidence of complete transfer of these actinides at small concentrations into anions of the AnO2(OH)4(2-) type in solutions with [OH-] greater than 1 and 1.2.10(-2) M is given. As the concentration of base is lowered, the AnO2(OH)4(2-) anions convert into the hydroxocomplexes AnO2(OH)3-.H2O, AnO2(OH)2.2H2O, and AnO2OH+.4H2O.
