摘要:
Coriolanus, the last of Shakespeare's Roman tragedies (1608), continues to draw on the poet's fascination with Rome and the Mediterranean as places. In this article, I explore the impact of Rome on the characters of Coriolanus from three perspectives: place as an incarnation of values, as an internal cognitive and emotional map, and as a nest of belonging.
