摘要
The article studies the cultural linguistics phenomenon of borrowing of English words in the Chinese language as a result of the growing global influence of English in the context of globalisation. Today, English is taught in every school and university in each country; more and more people are beginning to speak English because their work, one way or another, is connected with the affairs abroad or with foreigners within the country. China and its people are no exception. But the problem is that for some reason learning English at a high level is difficult for the Chinese. There even exists a special type of "Chinese" English, "Chinglish", which is only spoken in China. At the same time China is concerned with the "pernicious" influence of English on the originality of the Chinese language, suggesting that the increased flow of English words and phrases in the Chinese spoken language can pose a threat to its future. In the aspect of the linguistic problems of borrowing, the authors of the article review and analyse the phonetic, semantic, phonetic and semantic loans from English in the Chinese language, as well as English character inserts. The article contains a brief overview of how to translate these loans correctly; without this knowledge, translators may face some problems with the translation. Given the fact that the Chinese language speakers, especially in the specific social and professional groups, often prefer to use words of English origin due to their more accurate and efficient character, there is a great need to know borrowings from other languages. A conclusion on the significant influence of the English language on modern Chinese is made. Under the current Chinese policy aimed at integrating into the global economy, we can expect that this influence will only increase. Accordingly, it is necessary to pay more attention to the authentic discourse when teaching the Chinese language.
