This article is devoted to the issues of designing and application of techniques, based on the sentence completion method. The work gives the detailed review of the semi-structured projective methods, their theoretical basis, the peculiarities of the development and the specificity of research, as well as a description of the characteristics of the most common tests. The analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of the Sacks & Levy sentence completion test, conducted on a large array of data, allows the development of recommendations for the formation of particular tests, using the principles of the sentence completion method.
