摘要：
A review of general terminology of diaphragm action in structures, variables affecting diaphragm strength and stiffness, and research in both timber-clad, timber-framed and metal-clad, metal-framed diaphragm action, is presented. The applicability of performance prediction models for these two diaphragm types (or systems) is discussed for use in metal-clad, timber-framed, diaphragm analysis. Possible research in the area of finite element modeling of metal-clad, timber-framed diaphragm panels is also presented.
