摘要
Multilayer adsorption theory is used to derive an equation that accurately fits the experimental isotherms for the whole range of adsorbate concentration. The parameters used in the proposed isotherm equation relate to the size and fraction of capillaries and pores in the adsorbent material. A relationship between the change in the quantity of adsorbed molecules and temperature is derived for any adsorbent material in which the sizes of capillaries and pores do not change with temperature. This equation, when combined with the isotherm equation, produces a family of isotherms at varying temperatures, and the isosteres for changes in regain with temperature at constant humidity. From the absorption behavior of wool at high temperature, the steady-state condition during steaming of wool can be predicted. For the conditions that prevail in pressure decatizing, fabric with initial regains in the range of 13-18% will take the least time to reach equilibrium.
