摘要
A preliminary unexpected result of investigations on superconductors as absorbers for composite bolometers is reported. The investigation is intended to evaluate the feasibility of a rhenium high resolution bolometer to study the beta-decay spectrum of Re-187 and set a limit to the antineutrino mass. Re-187, being the nuclide with the lowest known Q-value for beta-decay is best suited for this purpose. The experimental results show that around 100 mK the heat capacity and the thermalization time in superconducting rhenium are increased by a weak magnetic field. This last effect was unexpected and it is so far unexplained.
