Treatment of the underlying cause is the goal of therapy for liver disease in cats. General supportive therapy includes rest and confinement; restoration of fluid, electrolyte, and acid-base balance; and diet management. Therapy of concurrent disorders is an important part of the evaluation, also, and specific therapies for feline liver diseases are outlined.
