FRESH-WATER PRAWN CULTURE - A REVIEW

Although freshwater prawn farming forms only about 5% of the global aquaculture production of shrimps and prawns it is of considerable local importance, particularly in S.E. Asia. Recent entry into global markets is likely to stimulate renewed interest in Macrobrachium culture. This review summarizes the status of freshwater prawn culture globally in terms of research, rearing technology, marketing and economics. © 1990.
