摘要
We investigate the properties of the fundamental mode of coupled L3 photonic crystal cavities like quality factor, energy splitting and polarization for three different relative orientations of the cavities as well as a monitoring of the energy splitting as a function of relative permittivity contrast in parallel cavities. The splitting control of the coupled states is potentially useful for applications that require simultaneous resonant enhancement of two transitions, in the production of optical switches and in general in the information transfer between cavities
