摘要
In a site-specific safety analysis, the German Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB), and the German Federal Office for Radiation Protection (BfS), respectively, have demonstrated the safety of the Konrad mine as a repository for radioactive waste with negligible heat evolution in the operating and post-operating phases. The safety analysis encompassed normal operation, assumed accidents, thermal impacts on the host rock, safety from criticality, and long-term radiological effects. The findings have been incorporated in plant planning and design criteria and in criteria to be met by the material to be emplaced.
