摘要
The organization that learns has mechanisms that allow him to create and leverage knowledge and is able to elicit behavioral changes by this knowledge. This precept applies to all organizational dimensions, including the work accidents. Understand and demonstrate how these conceptualizations are transposed to the area of health and safety at work and help to characterize the ability of organizations to learn from incidents, accidents and occupational diseases is the first objective of this article. The second and last objective concerns to the analysis of how these conceptions are configured in concrete organizational contexts. The case study conducted in a metalworking industry showed that the company has strategies to generate knowledge in this area, however, still does not get all the resources that could obtain. In addition, despite the workers interviewed reported a positive image of the company's ability to learn from accidents at work, their own attitudes and behaviors were not fully consistent with that possibility of learning.
