A Look From Turkish Press To Eurasia

In this study, how the news about Euraisa which is jeopolitically at the centre of Turkey, is reflected at the Turkish press will be analysed through the quantitative datas according to the contexts'of the news pieces. The main aim of this study is, to determine Turkish press' general approach to Eurasia with quantitative datas. For this purpose different Turkish newspapers with varying political tendencies or newspapers with a more liberal standing will be taken and the frequencies of the news and other types of writings such as articles and interviews about the Euraisa countries will be examined in detail to reach quantitative datas and the frequency of themes. One of the main findings of this study is that Turkish press does not pay enough attention to its neighbourland. Besides political, economical and event based news, especially cultural news are rare in the Turkish press. However, the mentioned region with its strategic state and energy springs can affect Turkey's economic and political future. However, the news which is about the region nearly lacks those assertions done by the specialist.
