TYPE-INDEPENDENT DETECTION OF FOOT-AND-MOUTH-DISEASE VIRUS (FMDV) IN NASAL SWABS WITHIN 24 HOURS BY POLYMERASE CHAIN-REACTION

摘要
A method to detect the genomes of various foot-and-mouth disease virus types in nasal swabs, probang and aphthaeous material from infected cattle is presented. The method is as sensitive as currently used virus isolation procedures, but more rapidly performed, because results are obtained at the latest within 24 hours following the reception of samples.
