摘要
We calculate the dispersion equation for surface magnetostatic (Damon-Eshbach) modes on a lateral magnetic/non-magnetic superlattice. It is assumed that the period is short enough that the superlattice can be described as a single effective medium and that the patterning depth is such that the mode fields do not penetrate into the substrate. No mode exists for f(1)<0.5, where f(1) is the fraction of the film occupied by magnetic material. As f(1) increases from 0.5 the allowed wedge about the Voigt direction within which the mode propagates widens and the model frequency decreases.
