摘要
This research has investigated the effect of employee engagement on organisational performance in the context of a pharmaceuticals company. The major results have been compared with grounded theory to draw an effective conclusion. Through a qualitative research method, primary data was collected via questionnaires and interviews. However, the questionnaire was administered by the respondents and the interviews were conducted on Skype due to the distance between respondents and researchers. The sample size is 35 and comprises 32 non-managers and three managers. The research concluded that employee engagement positively influenced the performance of the case organisation. However, the overall levels of engagement in the case organisation are still considered to be lower than optimal. A number of key drivers of employee engagement have been carefully investigated to examine their viability. This research recommends specific employee engagement drivers which are feasible for the case organisation.
