H/D ISOTOPE EFFECTS IN AQUEOUS-SOLUTIONS OF NI(CLO4)2, NI(CF3SO3)2 AND MG(CLO4)2 AS STUDIED BY INFRARED-SPECTROSCOPY

摘要
The hydration properties of Ni(ClO4)2, Mg(ClO4)2 and Ni(CF3SO3)2 in aqueous solution has been studied in both the OD and OH stretching regions, as probed by the HDO molecule in the hydration spheres of the ions. The parameters describing the hydration bands in the two regions are presented and discussed in relation to literature data. Only small differences in hydration numbers have been deduced from spectroscopic data obtained in the two regions, implying that deuterium fractionation has no significant influence on the infrared measurements of mono- and divalent ionic solutions.
