Cteniogenys is a small choristodere (Reptilia : Diapsida) from the Jurassic of England, North America and Portugal. The posteranial skeleton is described for the first time on the basis of dissociated bones from the Middle Jurassic of Kirtlington, Oxfordshire, England. In general, the skeleton resembles that of Cretaceous and Palaeocene choristoderes, but the vertebrae are longer - a primitive character. The overall structure of the skeleton suggests that Cteniogenys was aquatic like other choristoderes.
