摘要
The temperature dependences of lifetime and absolute intensities of the single-ion and pair lines of heavily doped ruby are given. Thermalization of the R and N levels is seen above approximately 100 K, as shown by the identical lifetimes for all emissions. Both the R and N intensities and lifetime increase with increasing temperature above this thermalization temperature, approximately 100 K. This latter trend is explained by the Auger-depopulation of the N levels.
