THE PROPAGATION OF 2-FREQUENCY FIELDS IN A 2-LEVEL DRESSED ATOM SYSTEM

The propagation of two-frequency probing fields in a two-level dressed-atom system can be transformed into a propagation problem in free space and a propagation problem of an equivalent field in a "two-level amplifying atom" system under proper conditions. The unique coupling between the light fields and the dressed atom leads to a combined propagation behavior.
