摘要
This article examines the responses of 14 African American Muslim parents, spanning 2 generations, asked what they are looking for when selecting a school for their children and what they want their children to become. Findings suggest that neoliberal ideologies have in some ways shifted parent's educational ethos from a focus on collective goals to a concentration on individual desires. However, racial and spiritual identities emerge as enduring concerns unfettered by generational context or neoliberal ideologies.
