摘要
The paper surveys the preliminary results of systematic monitoring of the consequences of the eruption of Mount Pinatubo as a first experiment to observe such global phenomena using satellite, aircraft, balloon and ground observation techniques. Assessments of the global climatic consequences of the eruption, due to volcanically induced changes in the aerosol and gaseous composition of the atmosphere are analysed.
