SEASONAL RHYTHMS OF BIOLOGICAL PROCESSES IN PLANTS - ADAPTATION OR ABAPTATION

摘要：
Long-term studies of seasonal growth rhythms (including processes in buds) in plants-of Caucasus and tropics show the lack of correspondence between them and present-day climate. Rhythmical biological processes are in many respects independent of modern environmental factors. They are rather adapted by previous history than adapted to present climate. The seasonal growth rhythm observed now can be considered only as a remain of the past rhythm.
