摘要
The photodegradation of blends of poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) and poly(styrene-co-methyl methacrylate) (poly(St-co-MMA)) was studied using ultraviolet and Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy and viscosity measurements. PMMA-poly(St-co-MMA) blends give macroscopically transparent films. The rate of formation of the oxygenated product, measured by FTIR spectroscopy, increases with increase in the fraction of PMMA in the blend. The rate of decrease of viscosity average molecular weight increases as the PMMA content of the blend increases. No interaction between PMMA and poly(St-co-MMA) at the component boundary regions has been observed during the photodegradation of these blends.
