WOMEN IN THE LABOR-MARKET IN HUNGARY

Women's disadvantageous position, as a result of historical processes, in comparison with that of men in terms of educational attainments, has decidedly improved in recent decades in Hungary, and until very recently there was full employment - with few exceptions, all women of working age were full-time active wage-earners. In 1989-1990, as a result of the change in the political system, important changes began in Hungary in the economy and in other spheres of social life. The question is to what extent this is affecting the position of women in the labour market.
