摘要
Traffic noise propagation in a built-up area is investigated using the concept of the A-weighted sound exposure level, L(AE). The excess attenuation due to the ground and air absorption is taken into account. The theory is based on the premise that buildings affect noise propagation much more through reduction in the direct waves than through enhancement by diffraction and reflection. A new method of L(AE) prediction from the measurements of the peak A-weighted sound pressure level is proposed.
