INTERDISCIPLINARY APPLICATION OF PROBLEM-BASED LEARNING (PBL) IN HEALTH SCIENCES: A USEFUL TOOL FOR PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES DEVELOPMENT

摘要
From its beginnings, the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) appears like an innovating educative proposal, that is characterized so that the learning is student-centered, promoting significant learning as well as the development of a numbers of important skills and abilities in the professional surroundings. Furthermore, in the context of European Space for Higher Education, the university must form professionals with profiles that respond to a social demand active, more interdisciplinary and flexible. It must form people who assume the continuous formation as a necessary tool for their own development and the one of its surroundings. In this article an experience of application of interdisciplinary problem-based learning, PBL, is detailed in two matters (Bucofacial development and Psychology) of the degree of dentistry during the course 2007-08. The experience details, such as the logistic development, process evaluation and its qualification contingency are explained. Also, the monitoring process study done by the persons in charge the program and the results obtained are presented.
