OUR TEN YEARS EXPERIENCE IN BREAST RECONSTRUCTION

The incidence of the breast cancer is increasing day by day and the therapeutic approaches are changing and developing parallelly. Although removing the cancerous tissue has priority, today; replacing the breast tissue has an equal value. This increasing importance is not only a result of demands of the surgeons, but also it is a result of patients expectations. In this study; the retrospective analysis of the patients who underwent breast reconstruction in our department in past ten years are presented. Patients were compared according to age, pathological diagnosis and stage, mastectomy procedures, postoperative adjuvant therapy, reconstruction modality, reconstruction time, results and complications. Mean follow up period 4 years (between 1-9 years).
