摘要
This paper describes two kinds of photonic A TM cell switch architectures for high-throughput switching systems. One is based on a broadcast-and-select star network using ultrashort light pulses, and the other is based on a hypercube network with optical matrix switches. This paper also describes and shows the results of experiments demonstrating key technologies that will support these architectures: technologies such as ultrafast cell generation, all-optical address matching, and all-optical synchronization circuits.
