摘要
This paper describes the advantages of photonic switching for constructing a high-capacity switching node, and presents NTT's recent researchers on photonic switching systems and optical signal processing. As photonic switching systems, an optical interconnection system, a thermo-optic space-division switching system, high-capacity photonic ATM switching systems, and a photonic frequency division switching system are introduced. As optical signal processing, a 3.2-Gb/s optical synchronization circuit, a 10-Gb/s optical transversal filter, a 4.65-Gb/s pattern-matching circuit, and free-space two-dimensional devices are introduced.
