摘要
The current status of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men's health is poor. There remains a serious gap in life expectancy between these and other Australian men, and early signs of this gap appear in adolescence. At the same time, young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men continue to engage in a wide range of sporting activities, such as Australian Rules Football. There is evidence that the relationship between young men and football can make a difference to their short- and long-term health. Cultural values and strengths, particularly around those that connect and support men across generations, can promote healthier pathways.
