INITIAL TEACHER TRAINING FROM A COMPETENCY MODEL: THE CASE OF SPAIN

摘要
Spanish State's adherence to the European Union has brought major changes in political, economic, social and educational system, the latter being where most significant reforms have been seen. The university is, without a doubt, the most notable model of this transformation, where the adoption of a competency-based education is the principal axis. The Spanish university studies related to initial teacher training have not been left outside to this challenge, after a long process, is now in full operation. In this article the construct of skills from the educational perspective and how it is established in the current model of teacher education in Spain is reviewed.
