摘要
The aim of the research currently being undertaken at UMIST, for the UK's Health and Safety Executive, is to evaluate the effectiveness of a behavioural approach in improving safety on construction sites. The Proportional Rating Scale (PRS) currently under development at UMIST is compared with the more traditional approach of the All Or Nothing (AON) measure for safety performance. The results have shown a 35 % difference between them (t = 25.99 ; df = 29 ; p < .001) in safety performance levels on the same site. This has implications for introducing motivational strategies, such as goal-setting.
