FORMATION OF FRACTAL PATTERNS OF MOO3 CRYSTALS DURING PHASE-TRANSFORMATION

摘要
MoO3 powder was used as source material and heated at 650 and 750°C in a particular oxidizing ambient. Some two-dimensional fractal patterns and crystal strings of the molybdena grow during the phase transformation. The experimental observations support the diffusion-limited-cluster-aggregation model and the Random-rain model. X-ray diffraction experiments show that the MoO3 crystal strings are single crystals. © 1990 The American Physical Society.
