摘要：
This paper describes a right mandibular ramus with M(I) of a dwarf Stegodon from Sambungmacan, East Central Java, Indonesia. The age is Late Pliocene or Early Pleistocene. The presence of a dwarf Slegodon is indicative for island circumstances in this area during the Plio-Pleistocene transition. Dwarf stegodonts are not recorded from the Satir island fauna of similar age, known from the Bumiayu area and Sangiran. The paleo-island on which the Sambungmacan dwarf stegodont lived presumably corresponded with the uplifted Kendeng mountain ridge.
