摘要
This article refers to a research that aimed to understand the experience of workers in outsourced condition in a town located in Sao Paulo-Brasil during a period in which there was a large number of layoffs. Based on the idea of " Field--Theme", the methodology involved the observation of public acts of protest and other activities of workers, as well as interviews. The results indicate that the workers accepted the contracts and neutralized this process, as it was the only possible form of employment in public health for them. Similarly, they see themselves as government employees and not as outsourced employees and identify themselves with the principles of the Unified Health System (SUS). Thus, the concern with the service users and the difficulty to perform properly the function of public health service provider seems to generate as much suffering as the personal situation of precariousness on the verge of unemployment.
