摘要
The variation of grain size and hardness in the two-step forging of an automotive valve is determined and from these data, grain size, strain and hardness-distribution maps are constructed. It is found that this metallographic method is reliable in the evaluation of local values of strain, when processes that affect the grain aspect-ratio, such as recrystallization, do not take place. It was possible to determine the structural situation at any particular place within the forged pieces from the different distribution maps.
