A COMPUTER-AIDED RELIABILITY AND RISK ASSESSMENT SYSTEM

Activities in the fields of reliability and risk analysis have led to the development of particular software tools which are now combined in the PC-based integrated CARARA system. The options available in this system cover a wide range of reliability-oriented tasks, e.g. organising raw failure data in the component/event data bank FDB, performing statistical analysis of those data with the program FDA, managing the resulting parameters in the reliability data bank RDB, and performing fault tree analysis with the fault tree code FTL or evaluating the risk of toxic or radioactive material release with the STAR code.
