摘要
This is a descriptive study with qualitative approach. The aim was to identify maternal support at home for the care of premature newborns egress of Neonatal Unit. It was conducted in 2008 by interviewing twelve mothers living in Sumare, Sao Paulo, Brazil. The recorded reports were treated by the technique of the Collective Subject's Discourse (CSD). The results increase the nursing knowledge by the diversity of resources that have emerged and revealed the importance of integrate the mother in the Neonatal Unit; valued the Guide Book offered by the service, as well as highlighted the relevance of social support for the baby's care at home. It is recommended the inclusion of the family members in nursing plan to preterm infant discharge from the Neonatal Unit.
